I have finally hit nervana... On July 30,31st I was able to enter the house of the Lord. My friends Rick and Carol Orr drove all the way from Calgary to take in a session Saturday morning..bright and early 7:30 am. Roxanne Varey drove from Winnipeg with me to go to the 6:30 session Friday night and 10 am session Saturday morning. It was a quick trip there and back but worth it.
It has been 28 plus years since I was in the Cardston Alberta Temple much has changed but the spirit was really there and afterwards sitting in the Celestial room with friends and talking was a peaceful, spiritual moment.
I will definatly be going again with the ward this time.
Your role as sisters is special and unique in the Lord’s work. You are the nurturers and the caregivers.-James E Faust October 2002 GeneralConference

Relief Society councillor
Yesteday I was set apart as the second councilor in Relief Society. As exciting as I was to receive the calling. I am nervous. There will be alot of studing to make sure I get it right. However our wish Heavenly Father blessed me with, the ability to get to know sisters I didn't already know, to be forgiving of the sisters who I have misunderstood, to help my first councilor and president and be creative in the calling.
I will miss the Mia Maid girls. They are awesome and have such a spirit about them. I will still have the opportunity to see them grow as they are only down the hall.

New job/old job
On Monday I start a new job with the City of Winnipeg. Its an old job because I did it 2 years ago when the old owner of this position went on paternity leave for 6 months and then he moved to a diffenent job. Am I excited, yes it is more money, who can't use that. The staff th at are working for me there are pretty good and we work well together.
It still got some gang issues, but they keep to themselves unlike the group where I am currently working, so in your face. Literally!!!
A new family moved into town, Niverville. Their members of the church and both are deaf. I think I need to sign up at the Deaf Centre so communication will be better. Although these two are handy with a pen and paper.

General Conference
Woot Woot, another General Conference is just around the corner. For those who don't know General Conference is when and where Latter Day Saints have the opportunity to see, listen and be fed spiritually. The first Saturday and Sunday in April and again in October LDS people gather in home, church buildings and Salt Lake City to see and hear Our Beloved Propehet and other General Authorities give us uplifting messages for us.

Chirstmas is on the way.
Just a little more than a week and Chirstmas will be here. Since I have put up the tree, I realize I need to get finished wrapping and buying some gifts for those I love and live far away. I know what I want and I just need to find the time and money to go shopping.
We celebrated the Nativity at the Forks again this year, and my job was to set up the stage. I spent 4 hours outside in what seems now like nice weather, but it was cold. To see some of the St.James Ward youth with beards and makeup on was humorous. But in celebrating the season, we should not loose sight of who's birth we honour. Jesus Christ.

Winter Wonderland
Officially the first day of winter!!! Booo or hurray depending on how you like snow cold weather or driving on the highway. For me its the drive on the highway. I have to contend deer at night and icy highways. Thursday evening we have young womens program and the drive home down a dark quite road. But I love my Mia Maids and will do anything for them included the drive home.
Almost ready for Christmas, a couple more gifts to buy--- mostly for those not living here. Black Friday wasn't as good as last year not so great deals.
